Would that it were that simple, kumar. MSM still defines the conventional wisdom. Most of the stuff that people on this thread think they know but isn't true comes from the MSM.

its simple - if u dont like what as u describe the "MSM" reports - dont watch it - find an alternative source of info.....

It's not that simple - the MSM has a huge affect on public support for the activitiy in Iraq. If Nadine turns it off, and the Iraq action is actually doing well but the MSM aint reporting objectively, the US could quit prematurely when another 1-2 years of effort might have succeeded. And the MSM would be largely responsible for decision to leave early and "fail" rather than give it another two years and "succeed". Tne MSM does have some responsibility to report objectively, not just critically.

Personally, I don't know many of the good things going on in Iraq because they aren't reported. All we hear about are the daily car bombings and deaths. My personal conclusion about what the US should do from here in Iraq is....I have no idea. But unless some signs of progress are clear, I'd lean toward leaving over surging. However, if the MSM reported constant progress and signs of good things happening, my answer would probably still be that I have no idea but am leaning toward carrying on.
