Yeah the homes have doubled in value in 5 years, so the tax on a new home purchase is double. Now a lot of the municipalities are lowering their mill rate by 10% but that hardly covers the increase. I'm not sure what they are doing will all the extra tax dollars... and a LOT of people like teachers and fireman and others that don't make a ton of money are priced out of the market. Plus home insurance has about doubled. FL is really in trouble.
