I suspect it's part of that wishful thinking and "wisdom" derived from paying too much attention to the msm. Some of these folks have heard the negative spin repeated so much that they actually believe it. They even expect us to think that there is such a thing as fiscally responsible lefties.....;>)

If the pundits at Fox were talking fondly of Gore, I suspect one heck of a lot of moderate conservatives might have a lot better opinion of him than you might suspect. Gore sits on several corporate boards and is really business friendly. "Object of ridicule"? You think for most people Gore is an object of ridicule and Bush isn't? Maybe you are missing the pulse of America.
