Putting the cash to work is easy, but subtracting $5 from two holdings and recalulating new share counts took me a little longer than I want to put into this.

What is the amount its over and I will subtract it from one of the stocks? Let's keep it simple.....its a game after all.

Here I have done the calculations for you:

First off, I clearly sold everything on Thursday:
Message 23309043

I sold...

2.457 shares of Curagen @ $3.87=$9.509
13.245 shares of Gene Logic @ $1.90=$25.167
4.566 shares of Anadys @ 4.12=$18.812
1.462 shares of Infinity @ 13.68=$20.000

That raises $73.488--from which you take 1% or a buck,
or something? I let you do that part...

Thanks! Maybe that helps, or at the least you
can check your work. If I go further...

So, let's assume the commission is a buck,
add the cash I had which was $37.685 +73.488 -$1.000

=$110.173

So I do not move in the rankings, but there is $3.20
gained for me based on the actual trades versus
getting the Friday closing prices. I'll take it!

I guessed that selling everyting at once was cheaper,
that must be true, because if you charged a buck for
each trade that would wipe out the three dollar gain
I get by selling everything all at once on Thursday.

An awful lot of work for an asterix. Happily in the
real world I sold just over 80k shares of Gene
Logic for a gain of something like $30k. But now
comes the hard part, redeploying. I did buy a little
ANDS on Friday, but in the near term, I have no strong
picks--I don't follow the sector closely enough.
Hence going all cash in the contest and shooting just
for the star.
