"Exactly... I'm not divorced, I was lucky the first time, but it's all a part of life, to make one's personal life a serious issue when selecting the next President is completely ridiculous..."

Now wait just a minute. One of the traits we always say we want in our leaders is character. Clinton didn't have it. Truman did. Etc. Etc. One of the attributes you still see given to Mr. Bush is his character...especially since age 40.

How a person treats his family, people he has taken vows to, people he has the highest responsiblity to, is a valid indicator of how such a person would treat others..and the Country.

I was in New York when Mayor Rudy was having an affair with the woman who became wife number three while Wife number 2 knew nothing about it all; she learned in a press conference that he was leaving her. The kids of wife number 2 and Rudy were a mess as a result...and the debate in the tabloids was whether wife number two had to move out of the Mayor's mansion so the mistress could move in! This was all pre-9/11 of course...and believe me, a lot of New York was pretty tired of Rudy at that point.

Maybe this kind of treatment of family (the MOST important people in his life) doesn't mean much to you, but it is telling to me...and relevant about how Rudy would act in situations.

Now, Clinton was a jerk. A complete jerk. I am not excusing or defending his conduct. or Kennedy's....but this thread is about the future...not the past.
