I find it comforting that some of our senior commanders would resign before doing something stupid they KNEW would lead to a bad end. The oath they take is to the constitution and the American people, not the President. Resignation is the correct course, then, they are free to speak out aganist the policy.

I'm sure Bush can find enough ambitious suck-ups to do the deed anyway. What large organization is short of ambitious suck-ups?

If true, that's huge. And scary. If the military stops listening to their civilian leadership we've lost one of the things that makes this country great, safe and strong.
