"Why Have So Many U.S. Attorneys Been Fired? It Looks a Lot Like Politics "

The speculation over at talkingpointsmemo.com has shifted from it being a political move to most of the firings being a smokescreen for firing Lam. Lam's investigations of "Dusty" Foggio and Brent Wilkes could have dire consequences for a lot of things. It is very likely that "black" programs, because of their secret nature, are used to cover an awful lot of corruption. That was Cunningham's MO, he used contract for "black" programs to make his most lucrative kick back deals. Dusty, given his position as the number 3 guy at the CIA, was ideally placed to make those things happen.

So it was very important to spike those investigations.
