As I've said before, I'll be voting straight democrat regardless of the nominees. But it does please me to see what I feel is an attractive array of candidates.

I agree with Carranza's description of Hillary. PLUS being from Arkansas, my Clinton fatigue is off the charts and I dread listening to the 527's that will attack her...lol. But I'll vote for her with full confidence in her basic abilities to govern.

At this point in time, Obama is my favorite. He's displayed hints of a quick and very keen intellect, imo. I suspect he might be the best at 'thinking outside the box', so to speak.

The middle east will continue presenting problems for us, perhaps forever. I think Obama's personality and ethnicity might serve him well in the diplomacy arena.

Obama has the potential, I think, to chip away at the GOP hold on the South, simply by increasing black voter turnout in the South. Apparently, the Dem party is going to rev up its voter turnout efforts nationwide, and this is long overdue.

The South is vulnerable. There's real fatigue here with the evangelical and dixiecrat mentality that has become the symbol of the GOP down here. People don't know what to think anymore. Last fall, I was STUNNED at the lack of GOP yard signs around town, because my tri-county area has been a Republican stronghold for 60 years, even tho the state usually went democrat.

I find the notion of an Obama/Wesley Clark ticket intriguing. But Richardson and Edwards have fine credentials, too.
As for Gore, there's just no suggestion yet that he's considering a run.

Michael, between Hillary and Rudy, who do you think would take New York in a presidential race?
