I spoke to a buddy of mine, a Lieutenant with the TX Highway Patrol, in license and weight(read trucking) and he says that most of the Mexican trucking companies will not venture too far over the border, as they know they will be stopped and checked often. Also, before they can get clearance, the Tx patrols will go to their yards in Mexico and clear the trucks and let them know what will and what will not pass.

Having said that, IMO, we should not let them run free over the border, if for no other reason, than to keep the tariff off our highways...it is bad enough now.
