One variable is undisputed. Microsoft could have chosen whatever 64-bit standard was best for them. Itanium, AMD-64, Yamhill, whatever.

I don't know the details, so we're already heavy into speculation. But I stand by my original point, that Sanders testified under OATH that Microsoft was NOT a monopoly. Why he did that should have been obvious. He was trying to curry favor from Microsoft. It doesn't matter whether he got it or not in the form that he wanted it in, but the attempt was as blatant as his hypocrisy.
