Apparently you, too, lack the ability to envision the blowback.

Tell me just how you personally would structure such a program? Hint: picture a classroom, not a corporate production facility.

What is the basis for the merit pay and who determines who receives it? Is it an objective measurement? Subjective? Combo of the two?

Also, throw in the fact that you have a FIXED SUM of money to work with. Consider the possibility that the money might improve over-all teaching skills if it is used differently. Where else might the money go? Remember your fundamental objective is to educate young people.

Unless, of course, you want to stay with the right wings' appetite for deficit spending and just throw a little money at everything.

Try to use a little cost-benefit analysis, a concept which seems to be foreign to today's republicans, unlike the GOP of old.
