Hmm, the Republicans have appointed conservative judges (Roberts & Alito most recently) though which is what conservative Christians want. So isn't that a matter of delivering to their constituency? OTOH the Democrats would put hardcore liberals on the SC so eventually kindergartners and elementary kids would be taught how to put condoms on bananas, about how gay sex and marriage is great - which will enrage the social conservatives. Parental spanking would become child abuse. The Boy Scouts would be banned unless they agree to have gay scout leaders (this is a real issue for many liberals), not to mention having to cut God out of the scout oath along with that morally straight language (homophobic of course). Not to mention we'd have to read miranda rights to foreign terrorists assuming any inadvertently got arrested, give them color tv, air conditioning, aclu lawyers, and the right to spit and piss on their guards with no punishment.
