I see. The *net* gain, as you see it, is the Iraqis get to regain their country. And if it becomes a satellite of Iran it was all worth it. And if it destabilizes Turkey, it was still all worth it. And if we get a creepy Islamofacist state, we all will be so happy because the Iraqis got their country back? And if we see a protracted period of civil war we will still be happy they got their country back- so they could kill each other?

You can *hope* the war doesn't spiral out of control (or more out of control), and you can hope that Iraq doesn't turn out much worse, but please, as you wind your way around the alleys of SI, quit saying the "liberals" want the US to lose. Many liberals merely don't have the same buckets of hope you seem to have that this situation can work out the way you *hope*, and that it will be better than it was under Saddam. We aren't unpatriotic, and most of us aren't even pacifists, we just think things could end up much much worse. We don't WANT them to be worse; we just see a lot of possibilities for problems, and some of us think US might and money could have been used a lot more effectively- for both US interests, and the interests of the Iraqi people. I have never gotten the feeling you really understand that.

Nadine, are you stupid or pretend to be smart? The US funded and supported Saddam bloody regime. Only when he stop saying "yes sir" to the US he became a murderer. Don't you remember that Bush senior gave him cover and allowed him to hit the Shiats in the south in 91. How stupid can you be?
