There seems to be the feeling that there is some agenda, some vested interest the scientists and those of us trying to do something have.

There are various agendas at work here. The funding spigot is only open to those scientists who clamor to outdo each other in proclaiming that GW means the end of the world. The vote seeking politicians clamor to outdo each other in proposing idiotic, touchy feely "alternative energy" mandates that do zilch about GW yet will cost plenty in terms of future wealth and prosperity.

The most insidious agenda is that of those radical greenies and washed up socialists and their media supporters and sympathizers who are ratcheting up the hysteria and hyperbole in an attempt to drag down Western economies and lifestyles.

Of course, the majority of the sheeple just swallow and believe the whole schmeer and have no idea of the consequences that they'll pay if the radicals manage to implement their agenda.

Fact: Water vapor is by far the largest greenhouse factor.

Fact: Methane produced by all the worlds domesticated farm animals is roughly equal to the greenhouse effect of all carbon energy sources of CO2 (which, BTW, is superb plant food).

Fact: CO2 emissions will increase in the coming decades, no matter what you or Al Gore wish to the contrary. You can sing Kumbaya as you drive your Prius to the organic food store to buy your tofu and sprouts and it won't make one iota of difference. The Chinese and Indians will go on buying new cars and merrily building new coal fired electric plants every week or two, regular as clockwork.

The world runs on carbon based energy sources because they work. Windmills and Ouija boards won't change that fact a bit. The only meaningful way to lower CO2 emissions would be to utterly destroy the worlds economy. Ain't gonna happen, and the greenie radicals know it. But they'll do their best to cripple western civilization in spite of that.

If (and it still is an unproven "if") increased levels of atmospheric CO2 proves a detriment, rather than an enhancement, to global ecology, then the only practical way to address the issue will be something along the lines of this..
