before you excoriate Keitel, perhaps Qualcomm legal is writing their own press release, and the stay was just made known. It would have been dangerous for a financial guy to be exposed to delicate legal questions. Why not wait until the coming PR to take a position.

I think in this case they needed to get a preemptive release out. They had the chance to put a press release out and then to explain their position. It isnt like Keitel doesnt talk about the legal stuff....probably half of the webcast was him talking about possible outcomes of the Nokia negotiations.

The worst part is that Keitel is likely in a breakout session right now. I can pretty much guarantee that somebody at the conference is going to ask him about this decision....it is just that his answer wont be widely disseminated.
