"I have always wondered if Pol Pot's genocide in Cambodia would have taken place if we had remained in Vietnam. At least 1.5 million Cambodians were killed in 1975."

Quite likely, it never would have happened if we'd NEVER gone into Vietnam. We destabilized Cambodia which allowed Pol Pot to come to power.

I have always "wondered" if a couple of million Vietnamese would not have been killed if we had stayed out of Vietnam. I am pretty certain 50,000 Americans would not have died and many, many others injured would not have suffered.

I have always wondered if Pol Pot's genocide in Cambodia would have taken place if we had remained in Vietnam.

Given that the Khmer Rouge were initially backed by North Vietnam and the Chinese, while we were initially backing Lon Nol, probably not.

More of the beauties and wonders of totalitarianism, especially totalitarian Communism.

This is what happens when the rest of the world pretends to themselves that "better red than dead" isn't an obscenity.

More "let them eat cake."
