<Saddam Hussein, free of sanctions, leader of the Arab League, and having obtaied nukes from AQ Khan and North Korea.>

The ability to comprehend such a scenario is not possible..... much easier to use hindsight and blame the decision makers for not finishing up the GWOT overnight.

News flash -- Saddam Hussein is still dead.

No matter how hard they cry for his return, even Dr. Frankenstein couldn't reanimate him with that broken neck.

Like, if we'd continued our sanctions against Iraq instead of invading.

But it's hard to imagine it would have been WORSE than the totally fubar cock-up we're in NOW.

No, it's rather easy to image a worse situation - Saddam Hussein, free of sanctions, leader of the Arab League, and having obtaied nukes from AQ Khan and North Korea.

He then could continue his subsidies of Abu Sayyef and AQ on a grander scale, and reinvade Kuwait at his leisure, knowing that we would not risk a nuclear exchange to save Kuwait again.

Not only was this a possible scenario, it was a highly probable result of trends existing in 2002.

No Nadine it all in your head. Israel wanted a war in the ME and Israel got it. Why can't you be honest about it. The big question now is what to do with Iran. They are developing Nukes. They are willing to sacrifice people, but haw may people is Israel willing to sacrifice? Nadine, AIPAC is paying you too much. Last July war was a dress rehearsal. Iran will mobilize against Israel from within and from outside. Israel has much to lose, the outside Jews will abandon Israel if it jeopardizes the Jewish existence.
