This car is also, what, a lot smaller than the average car? Given how many SUVs are parked in front of the local elementary school, I'd say the average is rather "weighted."

I used to drive a Nissan Sentra. Got no less than 30 MPG, even with my aggressive driving habits. (Something has to make up for its 1.6L engine at the time.) These days, you can get a Sentra for about $5,000 less than a Toyota Pious. Or a Toyota Corolla for that matter.

That's the more valid comparison.
