In my building's espresso line this AM, nary a word was said about yesterday's market action (mostly researchers here). I think the level of involvement of the general public is simply dwarfed by the hedge funds and their huge bowls of liquidity sloshing around. My brother, a big investor in the late 90s, is mostly out of the market and really doesn't care. OF course, all his spare cash and then some was poured into his expensive new house...

None of the other usual suspects that I used to hear from in the late 90s popped up either. Much of what has gone on is simply no longer on the radar of a lot of small investors.

One new person however asked me about gold out of the blue last weekend. That ain't good... <g>
