My point is that when you look at the Litany of Horrors set out in Pitt's column,

on the strength of those events you would expect to see the
Bastille (in its various American forms) being absolutely
STORMED by the enraged population, ready to tear apart the
perpetrators of those horrors.

What do we have instead?

The Congress passing non-binding resolutions about the Iraq war. And some window dressing.

Are those horrors being addressed? Not at this point.

Will they be in the future? Anybody's guess.

The passion and zeal to stop all this is NOT THERE!!!!!

And what should be in the foreground--GLOBAL WARMING AND ITS IMPLICATIONS--so far in the background it is just the subject of a few speeches, here and there.
