It was partial, btw, because I respected and agreed with most of what you had to say and didn't see cause for comment beyond that. And with this particular response, I have to say I completely agree with what you are saying and admire you for being able to do it so gracefully. " Now you may call it "chasing our tail", but I think if 1% to 10% of all Christians were committing or supporting heinous acts in the name of their religion, there would be a "The Truth about Christianity" thread. Wouldn't you agreed? Yes. And there are anti-Christian threads (not on SI) designed to be an expose' of the religion. I have no interest in that and normally don't attend anti-Muslim bashings but I post on SI alot so I figured why not."(and btw, you never answered my earlier question: "Would you agree that in some cultures, it's more likely that "bad acts" would be carried-out in the name of religion than in other cultures?") Oh sorry. I meant to get back to you on that and it completely slipped my mind. I agree with you on this. In any culture based on a theocracy this is likely to be the case. In Saudi Arabia, for example, people don't start their cars, pick up a spoon, or walk through a door way without saying something like bismillah (In the name of God). So yes the bad stuff, any good stuff, and the innocuous daily stuff is often carried out in the name of the religion. People on threads like this seem to over look that and just blame the religion for the bad acts that come from the culture. Religions don't do bad things, people sometimes use religions to do bad things.
