To All: I just got a letter from our Foxy, in view of the season I thought I would share it.

Dear Druss

I am surprised to say it but I am really getting into the Christmas spirit. It started about a week ago when I walked by some big barrels that were put out in the local supermarket to donate free food for hungry children. I normally just walk past such things but I started thinking. I thought it really isn't those kids fault they are hungry, ever since the misguided politicians passed those child labor laws, you can't blame the children because they can't get a job and pay their own way. So I went back and looked in the barrels.
People had been giving them a lot of practical sorts of food like cereal and pasta and such but there weren't very many treats. So I decided to do something special for them. I got a couple of half gallon cartons of chocolate ice cream and put one in each of the barrels.
I really felt good about that and it started me thinking even more. Christmas is really about giving and sharing and even giving to people like children that you can't stand. And I thought what better way to get to the heart of the spirit of Christmas than to give to someone who is hostile toward me.
There is a beggar who is always outside the supermarket that really seems to dislike me. We had a misunderstanding a year or so ago when I gave him some career advice and suggested that he 'get a %$#%$*# job, you %$#@*#$ leech!' I guess he didn't understand my intentions and has been pretty harsh and insulting toward me. Who better to show some true Christmas spirit?
It took me a while to come up with a present I thought he would like. Sure I could give him money but that doesn't show I am really thinking of him and what he would like. Then I thought, I know he really is there begging money to buy cheap booze. So why not give him a bottle?
Do you remember that bottle of moonshine you and Lee sent me? The one I took the tiny sip out of and sent me into convulsions, then blinded me for five days after I came out of the coma? Well, I always treasured that bottle since when you gave it to me was the only time you ever actually told me the truth. You said the stuff had quite a kick. I had been saving it to mix some drinks for you when you visited again but this is the Christmas season after all. So I poured the moonshine into an empty vodka bottle I happened to have and gave it to that beggar. You should have seen his eyes light up.
I have been wishing I would see him since I gave it to him but he hasn't been at the supermarket for a week or so now. Then I realized I just wanted him to tell me what that gift had meant to him. But that isn't what Christmas is about is it? Just giving the gift is enough. I don't need thanks.
Love
Foxy
