exactly - and despite that they purchased amply credit insurance !

now if these credit spreads increase finally and people "price" risk higher, then this could really turn into a windfall to them on the refinancing needs of others...

"four transactions" in and of itself tells u nothing

how LARGE are these four transactions is the operative question, e.g., does each transaction package together a number of subprime loans? if so, how many and what is the worst case exposure?
