You 'lived' it? Maybe with the help of some artificial reality supplements?

Read some of what really went on, instead of what you were fed by the rightwing media. The people of the Soviet Union finally woke up and overthrew their oppressors, and Reagan didn't have a lick to do with it.

Gorbachev's attempts to modernize the Soviet economy through perestroika attempted to blend Soviet state economics with western style capitalism - and resulted in a disaster. Coupled with glasnost, the Soviet people were finally shocked out of their decades long slumber to yet again revolt against the oppressive masters - this time the Communists.

Reagan probably assumed it was his work, but by that time was so far gone into dementia that he probably also imagined it was all part of some movie.

Reagan did not bring down the Soviet Union, you buffoon.
He merely presided over the period when the Soviet Union finished collapsing. It was well on its way to collapsing and would have ended no mater who was the US president. In order of credit, Gorbachev is clearly at the very top. Also to be credited are Jimmy Carter and SALT talks, the Mujeheddin in Afghanistan (with CIA help under Carter) including ironically Bin Laden, Lech Walesa and the labor movement, Germany and its willingness to take East Germany in, the Jews, the Catholic church, the Ecumenical movement, the hippies, the No Nukes Movement, the Beatles, etc. etc. including many liberal groups. Reagan is in there somewhere too. But remember when he made his Berlin Wall speech the Soviet Union was already gone.

We are sick and tired of the dishonest rightwing trying to credit Reagan's huge defense boondoggles like the MX Missile and Star Wars (still a huge useless boondoggle) with ending the USSR.

However I do give Reagan credit for being a relatively honest rightwinger. Unlike Bush-cheney who continually lie and never take responsibility for their actions. Reagan for instance apologized for the Iran-Contra debacle, though he was also responsible for the S+L Debacle.

You just drank the rightwing Koolaid, nothing else. It was 90% lies, pal, all of it, and it still is, just like the lies of the old Soviet Union, the Nazis and every other bunch of war-mongering extremists who try to cow the people.

I respect Reagan, but he definitely did not end the Soviet Union. No more than he made China a future capitalist superpower. Or controlled the Middle East. He was just an influence, as was Carter and every other US president. There was no magic wand to end the USSR. Never happened. If Reagan had done absolutely nothing the USSR probably would've ended around the same time as it did.
