The economy isn't a zero sum game.

The wealthy are people who created the wealth, or enabled others to do so, or inherited it from people who created wealth or enabled others to do so.

Its not at the expense of, because they didn't take the wealth from the non-wealthy. Also because the non-wealthy as a whole have also gotten wealthier.

You can complain about inequality if you want, but arguing that inequality amounts to some getting wealthy at the expense of others is as nonsensical as your claim that American culture is exclusively devoted to defense and war.
