Jefferson is not charged with anything yet. He has been stripped of all major power, but until authorities actually bring charges he's innocent until proven guilty. I doubt he is, but who knows? One thing is for sure, his constituents voted him back in despite knowing he might be crooked. The Democratic Party fought hard to try and stop him from being re-elected.

Are you against democracy? The dude got re-elected! The people in his district either don't care, or would rather he rip them off than some Repugnican, but it's THIER choice.

I got a new computer so I can run Supreme Commander - it's great! If you loved Total Anihillation, you'll love this one..

"Then he shouldn't even have a seat on the Homeland Security Committee."

Personally, I agree with you. But look at Bruce Cunningham, who was allowed to keep his seat on the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee until moments before he pled guilty. Jefferson hasn't even been charged. Until he has been charged, there isn't a whole lot to be done. While it might be nice that even those with a whiff of corruption were suspended, that is probably too idealistic. I wish it weren't, but that would be counter to reality.

Divorce for calling wife a mouse
By Bassam Za'za', Staff Reporter

gulfnews.com

Dubai: A Dubai court granted a divorce to a 28-year-old Arab woman because she was offended when her husband said she looked like a mouse.

The court said comparing the wife to a mouse was an insult to a "mother, wife and a woman".

"The mouse is a disgusting animal. A woman should not be compared to it or any other animal," said the lawyer of the woman, a mother of three children.

The Dubai Sharia Court of First Instance had earlier turned down the wife's claim for divorce. She then appealed and was granted the divorce. The 37-year-old husband was also ordered to pay her a monthly maintenance.
