"Declaring specX-base ALONE as the best and most accurate means of comparing processors running arbitrary workloads is flat-out RIDICULOUS. Someone's pushing an agenda..."

Don't put your words in my mouth. I said no such thing as "..ALONE as the best and most". But you are missing the whole point. The SPEC is designed to be a measure of performance for laymans. It is. According to SPEC, AMD is 50% behind. Get over it. People read SPEC scores, and OEM managers make their decisions. They have made them. Look at the trailing indicator of OEM platform preferences, get your butt to local retail shops. I took a look at local COSTCO recently. AMD presence in desktop was ZERO. Presence in notebooks was surprisingly high - 2 out of 5, 40%. Now talk about agenda. As I said many times before, I have no positions nor in INTC nor in AMD.

P.S. Two years ago I have posted retail statistics from local shops, and was also ridiculed by Intel promoters. But at that time the statistics was completely opposite, reflecting different momentum in PC industry and competitive processor offerings. I am just trying to help here. But I understand that this is a foreign concept for people with agendas, yours, or Doug/Elmer's.
