"However, none of the top tier of Democratic presidential candidates has yet to gain a significant national edge on the health care issue."

There's a huge gate just waiting for someone to walk through it. Whoever walks through with a convincingly rational program of single payer could walk away with the whole thing IMO. This is a really serious issue that is a good foil against all that we waste in Iraq for the benefit of BigOil and Halliburton.

Most Americans do not know how much healthcare costs and why it's so expensive when the outcomes are so poor in comparison with other industrialized nations. Health care profiteering should be like war profiteerings = criminal.

When people are actually presented with the figures about private insurance versus Medicare, the US costs versus everyone else's versus longevity and child mortality...people's eyes open just a little bit wider.

When people actually confront the utter corruption of the health care system, they are usually speechless.
