There's a difference between charitable contributions and buying off the guilt.

One sets a good example and makes a strong statement.

The other is just a chicken-s*** excuse for not practicing what one preaches. Not to mention very elitist. People who want to live the rich life of Gore now have to work that much harder to pay off their carbon credits?

So convenient of a rich liberal elitist to pay extra money for the "environmental privilege" of driving an SUV, yet the middle class soccer mom is told to drive her kids and their friends around in a Toyota Prius.
