Sad to say, I suspect there is a lot of truth in that position.

Sad, but no kidding. You fight a war it's best you DESTROY your opponent, not leave them lying around to "stockpile weapons".

Do you still think the creation of the Jewish homeland is a good idea if it requires killing, say, ~30 million non-Jewish objectors? Because they are still there firing rockets and attempting cross border raids and holding nationwide rallies in opposition to Israel, and almost universally objecting. And unfortunately, their objection ("we were kicked off land we've lived on for 10 generations") are completely understandable.

I still argue the "lets live together as equals" approach is superior.

By every measure that goes on in any other conflict, Israel won.

No. The "other side" hasn't stopped fighting.
