YEs, I understood, and I guess I was trying to explain the scope of SL. So that just as a city has seedy neighborhoods, it also has an arts center, and churches and high income neighborhoods. It's just a giant world.

There is no charge to join SL at the basic level, which means you can go where you want, but can't own land. Then there is a membership that allows you to own and build. As far as I know, Linden Labs gets no direct monies from a business whether it's a furniture store or a porn site, other than the land rental fee (which is tiered depending on how much you want to own)Also, people can rent the land they have bought to others. However, a major reason people join could very well be to go to those port sites, and in that way, I suppose you could say LL profits from them.
