"Covenant of Gabriel? never heard of it."

Now I'm confused, I was assuming this to be your area of scholarship. I don't know a whole lot about it but this is what I think you get if you look into it. Abraham had the two boys Ishmael and Isaac. When Isaac (Israel) was born to Sarah, Hagar was sent to another land with her son (Ishmael).

An angel came and blessed Israel with a covenant from God proclaiming that he would be the father of Nations etc. In the mean time Hagar is weeping on her treck to a new land because her son, Ishmael, is about to die of thirst. So, here comes the angel to comfort her and tell her to fear not as we establish the covenant with your son also and then a spring appears to refresh Ishmael and the rest is history.

Right?
