The scientists seemED rather ignorant. Don't forget; this was '86. These were the people starting to find the problem. I was still maybe not even living up here; long time ago.
Like in that vulture story...lots of surprises. Lakes under the ice sheets? Lots of surprises. I wish I saw a bunch of downside surprises.. Everything I see is to the upside.

What's that in mmHg? Arterial blood is 40, venous 44. Lots of chronic lungers are in the 60-60 club (O2/CO2). We'll probably be putting them on a ventilator or BiPap at 80. But, just saw a 118, with a pH right at the bottom of the normal range. Absolutely amazed us. Her bicarb was about 2.5 times the norm. Bodies are amazing.
