Quite a few years ago, in summer, I suggested to one of my kids (a high school student at the time) to do something useful, say, take a college grade C++ class at a local community college. He stared at me and said: "Whoa? C++? I know C++. I was the best in class in 10th grade". Your replies, your expressions of vision and width of experience remind me of that occasion.
