You may not imagine yourself a guru, but you have helped me make money, and many other people on SI. You can skip burning the incense if you wish....;-)

I understand about recomendations, in the past I have recomended companies like Phelps Dodge (PD), San Juan Trust (SJT) etc. instead of Bob's Screen Door and Gold Mining Company, which trades in the pink sheets.

I think the potential percentage gain for the smaller Uranium companies vs. the larger firms will be enough to more than offset the additional risk. I don't think this was true of the oil sands projects, which heavily depend on economies of scale, and good management.

I think the location and ore body factors will tend to be the most important.

That also means I expect that a meger or buyout will be the exit for many small companies. We are already seeing multiple mergers - 2 in the past 30 days - in the Uranium sector. Panic over the Cigar Lake shortfall may be one reason for this, but consolidation is occuring early in this bull market.

For tar sands, the buyouts and mergers tended to be much later after production was established.
