Good question....and one that Qualcomm should definitely address directly. If the Siemens/Huawei JV (or any of the other JV's) delivers TD-SCDMA handsets, is Qualcomm going to get paid? It should be a pretty straight forward answer based on how the royalty agreements deal with JV's.

Beyond that, China just seems like a black hole of information. It looks like China Mobile is going to deploy a large scale TD-SCDMA network, but who knows? The breakup of Unicom has also been rumored for several years now with concrete evidence that this will happen. Personally, I have managed to get to the point where any positive development out of China is just a bonus....
