JGoren, Re: Nextwave, and “ I really don't see NextWave as direct competition. Besides, there are too many ex-Qualcomm folks who probably still hold shares to see it as aimed at Qcom, rather than filling a niche for broadband services. Will WiMax handle mobile, as opposed to stationary”

I think we’re both on the same page (also with Salmasi).

Re: “Will WiMax handle mobile, as opposed to stationary, broadband?” That’s the intention, but how long will that take and how much Q IPR / know-how will be required is another question.

You’re aware that a division of WAVE is designing WiMAX chips that are intended to actually work, (opps, meant compete with INTC stuff) ? Also, I think I heard the Q state that they would “support” WiMAX when (and if) the carriers actually want it.
