Brian- also re #5719 I have been a fan of Pipes for a while, and this article refers to his warning "…Should Islamists get smart and avoid mass destruction, but instead stick to the lawful, political, non-violent route, and should their movement remain vital, it is difficult to see what will stop them…" This is a great point to those wishing to preserve our way of life. As I have stated previously- we have a president declaring a "war on terror" not even naming it as a war against the radical islamic threat. Let's say, for arguments sake, we can force the miscreants to stop the violent jihad and our "war on terror" is successful, then what? They will just use every other tactic to advance their agenda. Name it for what it is, fight it for what it is. For other fans of Pipes, have you seen video of his debate with Ken Livingstone, Londonistan's Mayor recently? Something about the Clash of Civilizations (wrongly named as those in the anti-jihad crowd know already). He had Douglas Murray supporting him. Pipes and Murray were great. Murray is an up and comer. Look it up.
