""We Americans have forgotten that.""

Hummm, Dear Fine Friend MM, she begs to differ.

Perhaps 'some' Americans or 'some' people in all countries have forgotten, but Americans in view have taken inventions to a new high, and Americans out of view, i.e. non-proclaimed individuals, invent, and find solutions almost every day.. duct tape goes a long way :)

Example... I have seen some of the 'inventions' my sister has contrived with their quadriplegic daughter. With the brain handicapped.. one size does not fit all, one so called aid, does not fit all, for each brain handicap is different... so enter an American who has not forgotten...

and their are countless thousands of unheralded Americans succeeding by various and sundry ideas that 'suit' them.

I would think that knowing you... you too... have been able to build bridges (inventions, if you will) for the need of the moment in order to make it to 'the other side' or go on down a seemingly blocked road. Is it not called... Survival ;)

The path is never closed. There is always an open door. Successful Americans and people of all countries... find that the door opens inward... and when need presents, another solution is born. :)

Ahhh... Survival :)
