ehy....nice place to visit or fish, but the political climate and economic danger are on par with VZ or WI. In short, the political structure is dysfunctional, socialist, xenophobic, and unprincipled.

The US is not much better, so I am not pounding the table of US nationalism. I have concluded that investments 'up nord' are closer to perpetual Bre-X stories.

Vancouver junkies: CBC did a documentary a few years ago about them.......live recordings of women cashing their welfare checks, buying dope, and shooting up in the bathrooms of public parks. Visual truth that seems to have bounced off the collective consciousness of local citizens. Eh.......I have no stake in Canada's politics, so I won't lecture. I do have a view and I think needle exchange programs, coddling, and permissiveness toward abuse will not produce a decline in drug use. Good luck to those who believe in the 'progressive' social programs of tolerance. IMO, Singapore's moral/legal code holds more promise. Liberals rarely give up thier illusions, though there is hope. I gave up mine .

If there is another country in the world with a greater variety of still-unspoiled landscape, seascape (and skyscape if you include auroras and dark skies) than Canada, I don't know what it is. The U. S. once had all that, plus desert landscapes of great magnificence, but a great deal of it has been ruined just in my lifetime.
