I should have worked harder for Kerry. I didn't like him- he seemed too much like Bush, and I was worried that if a Democrat took over the faults of the Bush war would be blamed on the Dem (and of course they would have been). On the bright side. Bush has done a nice set up for the liberals, and the polls show us a meaningful shift to the left. A less ambiguously awful legacy probably wouldn't have swung us so far so fast. :-) There's always a pony in there somewhere- you just have to dig for it.

In 2000, I voted for Gore...but without real passion. I thought Bush was a lightweight, totally unqualified for the job, but I assumed he would cover his butt by appointing qualified people to run the country for him.

The complete failure of this administration in every area has come as a shock to me. Where are the competent Republicans?
How did Bush manage to put together a consortium of such unqualified, even lazy bureaucrats? That takes real effort, IMO.

Looking at Condi Rice's background and achievements, I had a high opinion of her at one point, but she too has proved to be
ineffectual. Can anyone point to an achievement of hers? All she does is rather lamely try to defend the admin. decisions.

The biggest shock, other than the Iraq war, has been the depth and scope of quite blatant corruption in the Republican party to date. And there's more to come as the subpoenas start uncovering all the behind the scenes scummy deals.
