edwin K - I still agree with your basic point though that companies can also go down the wrong path... There usually are pros and cons for decisions and sometimes different parties have different assumptions about the facts and the tradeoffs. ATT could have bought McCaw and changed over to CDMA but it wouldn't have been as easy as a greenfield choice if both were available at the same time. However, a number of firms chose to wait for what they believed would be the better technology (fortunately for CDMA).
