Someone who is in a hurry enough to request a wire transfer really looks forward to a several day investigation. <G> We had that problem, too, at Smith Barney. To be fair, we didn't use Citi, as they had no bank in town at that time. We used either Chaste or BankAmerigoVespucci. Still, the firm was so worried about money laundering that many wire transfers did not get done.

Most of mine did get done on time, though. Everyone hated the wire transfer officer and I was always nice to her. She would do mine correctly and put the others on the bottom of the stack. Most of the time, the problem was not with her, but she could sometimes schmooze the problem causers. If she felt so motivated.
