I don't think we'll use nuclear weapons unless against China in the context of a real shooting war. I think our military hands are tied versus Iran, except for some small scale operation. We need to take advantage of the fact that the majority of Iranians have a positive image of American, and want closer relations. Let whats-his-name hang himself with his foolish remarks; Iranians will get sick of him and the resulting isolationism. Our weapons must evolve from military to economic. Use globalization and our rampant consumerism as a weapon instead of a weakness.
