The orders from Qualcomm with TSMC will be for 90nm technology and more advanced, and this will help boost the utilization rate at TSMC's 12-inch plant (Fab 14) to 85-90%, the equipment makers were cited as saying.

The last couple of weeks TSMC ordered lithotools with ASML for about $ 175 million.

And in the period from January 12 tot March 5 TSMC ordered 'A batch of machinery equipment' worth $23.8 million with Applied Materials.

In the period from February 16 to March 5 TSMC ordered 'A batch of machinery equipment' worth $16.9 million with LAM Research.

And today, March 5, TSMC ordered 'A batch of machinery equipment' worth $26.3 million with Applied Materials.

All information according to a filing at the Taiwanese Stock Exchange today.
