I cant think of many reasons to be concerned about IB.
They have strict margin enforcement and accounts are liquidated if someone gets close to being in trouble.

As far as I know same protections as any other brokers.. There is an active SI thread on IB..

My main IB concern is the high-yield short-term debt they offer every month. The only thing they could possibly be doing with that to make it profitable is lending to extremely questionable borrowers, like the hedge fund industry.
