Kruschev banged his shoe at the UN, said the Soviets will bury the West, and "your children will live under communism" At the present rate, in 50 years Russia will be broken into pieces, there population will shrink by emigration and lower birthrates, and it will become a minor power, left as a buffer state against future Asian expansionism. They will need to move closer to the EU to have any security.

They will need to move closer to the EU to have any security. Russia's role may be to provide defensive buffer for Poland ;-) A good article...
