Kumar, for the record, it is a surprisingly common occurrence for women to give birth while not knowing they had been pregnant. I personally have been privy to several such cases.

With very young women or teen-agers, it might be understandable, but it happens with older women also. It happens even to women who have previously given birth. And it has happened in both slender and chubby women.

You bring up a good point re cessation of menstrual cycles (which can have a number of causes, BTW); however, some women just are not that mindful of such things.

Yes, before you ask, sometimes an element of denial is at play, but not always.
