Since when has the surplus SS not been stolen by the government? The program has run a surplus since the day of it's inception yet there is no money just some IOU's. That's all there ever has been. Johnson even made the bold move of taking it off budget so folks wouldn't even see it being stolen. Pretty slick move that the politicians have been thanking him for ever since. Both sides have squandered this money and to say otherwise is either being a liar or an ignoramus.

The ponzi scheme is destined to fail, it's only a matter of when. It's just too damn bad we can't privatize and get our money out of the hands of the dishonest sons of bitches in DC and I'm speaking of both parties.

Both sides use those funds, my point is the scare tactics of the dummycrats, to scare everyone into thinking that SS would be COMPLETELY ELIMINATED, that is dishonest...

I cant agree with you there. I dont think Bush did anything with SS but TRY to preserve it for future generations by beginning to privatize it and GET IT OUT of the arena where greedy politicians of BOTH PARTIES could raid it. People either didnt understand his goal or refused to believe it was viable. If you cant give Bush credit for this economy and significant higher TAX REVENUE due to his tax cuts then you just are not being fair. Congress enacts spending bills, sure Bush could have shut down the govt and possibly derailed the economy, he choose not too. jdn
