China is energy independent with all the coal they have. Solar power is crap, you can't run shit on it. Well I must say, there is no vision here. People said that about oil too I suspect when they were still driving buggies behind horses. China might be energy independent, but they are going around the world gobling up energy supplies while we sink our efforts in Iraq. China is drilling for oil off our southern shores and is buying energy companies in Canada. They are also making deals with third world countries and despite what you say are working hard on energy sources other than coal and oil. In short they are whooping us bad. Current leaders don't see this - who among those running for President do? Not sure.
